Maternal and child diets and health study in Tunisia
As part of the surveys FoodLAND is running surveys with rural consumers in all the 14 Food Hubs that have been created, Tunisian partners conducted their surveys at the Fernana Food Hub. The survey took place during February and March 2023 in the region’s health centres and the Fernana regional centre for Women and Children’s protection. About 200 pairs of women of reproductive age and one child 6 to 23 months of age were selected for this survey.
The surveys include the gender perspective, devote special attention to maternal and child diets and health, and collect data on consumers’ socio-economic conditions, socio-demographic (e.g., migration) and anthropometric characteristics, food provisioning and preparation habits, diets, food prices, and community conditions and services.
The texts written in Arabic in the pictures are advocacy messages about the importance of breastfeeding and the importance of family planning (not having too many babies)
