Relief Society of Tigray

The Relief Society of Tigray (REST) is an Ethiopian grassroots organization committed to working with the poorest communities to bring about positive, sustainable change. Originally established within a context of civil war in 1978, today REST is the largest operational NGO in the region, pursing a wide range of relief, rehabilitation and development programs.

Role in Foodland

The Relief Society of Tigray is contributing in developing food control and traceability systems ensuring novel products quality, safety, authenticity, and identity; i.e, enhancement productivity and value addition (processing) of teff and promotion of nutrition at household level. (WP3, WP4, WP5, WP6)
